Dr. William Scott Helton has over 30 years of experience in the field of Hepatic, Biliary, and Pancreatic Surgery. He earned his B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, and his M.D. from the University of California, Irvine. After completing his residency in Surgery at the University of Washington Affiliated Hospitals, he pursued a fellowship in Liver Transplantation, Pancreatic and Hepatobiliary Surgery at the University of Toronto. Dr. Helton is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. He has served as Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Washington School of Medicine and as Professor of Surgery, Chief of General Surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Currently, he is the Director of Liver, Biliary and Pancreas Surgery Center of Excellence at Virginia Mason Medical Center and Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Washington Department of Surgery.
