Dr. Oliver Schein, MD, MPH

Dr. Oliver D. Schein has 40 years of experience in the field of Ophthalmology. He earned his BA in History and Philosophy of Science from Princeton University and his MD from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He also completed his MPH from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and his MBA from Johns Hopkins Carey Business School. After completing his residency in Medicine at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, he went on to complete a fellowship in Ophthalmology and Cardiovascular Epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute and National Institutes of Health. He then went on to complete his fellowship in Corneal and External Disease from Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. Today, this expert is board-certified in Ophthalmology and Internal Medicine. Formerly, this expert held roles as an Associate Professor in the Departments of Epidemiology and Ophthalmology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and as the Medical Director of the Wilmer Eye Network at Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute. Currently, he serves as a Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and in the Department of Ophthalmology at Johns Hopkins University, and as the Vice-Chairman of Quality and Safety at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute. He is also the Chief of the Maurice Bendann Surgical Pavilion and the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Surgical Enterprise at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute, and a Physician in the Cornea and Anterior Segment Service at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute.
