Dr. Martin L. Blakely has 23 years of experience in the field of Pediatric Surgery. He earned his BS in Biology from Rhodes College, his MD from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine, and his MS in Clinical Research from the University of Texas School of Public Health. He also earned his MMHC from the Vanderbilt University Owen Graduate School of Management. After completing an internship and residency in General Surgery at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, he went on to complete a research fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess and another research fellowship in Immunology at Harvard Medical School. He also completed a residency in Pediatric Surgery at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital and today, this expert is board certified in Pediatric Surgery by the American Board of Surgery. Formerly, this expert served as an Associate Professor of Pediatric Surgery at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and as the Director of the Surgical Value Improvement Program at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. He was also the Director of the Pediatric Surgery Clinical Research Fellowship Program at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and the Chief of the Surgery at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital.
