Dr. Kirk McDaniel, PhD, MBA, PE, CMSP

Dr. Kirk H. McDaniel has specialized experience in MSHA & Mining Safety, Mining & Earth Systems Engineering, and Metallurgical Engineering. They earned their BS, MEng, and PhD from the Colorado School of Mines and MBA from Regis University. Previously, they were a Principal Advisor of Underground Mining at Rio Tinto Technology & Innovation, a Senior Project Manager at Direxa Engineering Company, LLC, and the Director of the Energy, Mining, and Construction Industry Safety Program at the Colorado School of Mines. Currently, they work as a Principal and Owner at Lamphead Mining Consulting, LLC, as a Confinement Ventilation Engineer at the U.S. Department of Energy, and as an Adjunct Professor at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology.
