Dr. James Fortenberry, MD

Dr. James D. Fortenberry has specialized experience in the fields of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and Pediatrics. They earned their BA in History and Zoology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and their MD from the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. After completing their residency in Pediatrics at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center, they went on to complete a fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care at Texas Children's Hospital. Today, the expert holds certifications in Critical Care Medicine and Pediatrics. Previously, they held roles as an Interim Chief and Interim Program Director at Emory University School of Medicine and Interim Chief at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Currently, they work as an Attending Physician at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Endowed Chair of Medicine at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and Adjunct Professor at Emory University School of Medicine.
