Dr. James Clarke earned his BA in chemistry from Rockford University and his PhD in theoretical chemistry physics from Johns Hopkins University. A certified environmental scientist, he is an active member of a number of professional organizations including, the American Academy of Environmental Engineers, the American Nuclear Society, and the Society for Risk Analysis. This expert has over 40 years of professional experience, previously served as the chairman, president and CEO of Eckenfelder Inc., an environmental engineering and consulting firm focusing on services related to hazardous waste management, contaminated site investigation and remediation, and wastewater treatment. He also served as a member of the advisory committee on nuclear waste and materials for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, as well as a consultant to the advisory committee on reactor safeguards. Currently, this expert serves as a professor of practice in civil and environmental engineering, and a professor of earth and environmental sciences at a prominent university in Tennessee. He also serves as the technical director of nuclear environmental engineering and forensics at an environmental engineering consultancy.
