Dr. Georgios Georgakis, MD, PhD, FACS

Dr. Georgios V. Georgakis has 8 years of experience in Surgery and Surgical Oncology. He earned both his MD and his Ph.D. in Cancer Biology and Oncology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He completed a residency in General Surgery at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, a fellowship in Trauma at Hartford Hospital, and another fellowship in Complex Surgical Oncology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Today, this expert is board-certified in Complex General Surgical Oncology and Surgery. Formerly, this expert served as an Attending Surgeon at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and as a Clinical Instructor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He is currently a Surgical Oncologist with Stony Brook Surgical Associates University Faculty Practice Corporation and an Associate Professor of Surgery at the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University.
