Dr. Erik Nilssen, MD

Dr. Erik C. Nilssen has 13 years of experience in the field of Orthopedic Surgery. He earned his BS in Nutrition Science and Pre-Medicine from Auburn University and his MD from the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine. After completing an internship in General Surgery at the Montreal General Hospital and a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the McGill University Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, he went on to complete a fellowship in Sports Medicine and a second fellowship in Foot and Ankle Surgery, both at the American Sports Medicine Institute. Today, this expert is board-certified in Orthopedic Surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. Formerly, he served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine and as the Director of the Foot and Ankle Fellowship at the Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. He currently serves as an Orthopedic Surgeon at the OrthoLazer Orthopedic Laser Center, at the Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, and at the Cornerstone Surgery Center. He is also the Founder of Nilssen Orthopedics, P.A., where he is also an Orthopedic Surgeon.
