Dr. Dean Chou has over 17 years of experience in the field of Spinal Neurosurgery. He earned his BA in Biochemistry from the University of California Berkeley and his MD from the University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine. After completing his internship in General Surgery and his residency in Neurology and Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, he went on to complete a fellowship in Spine Surgery at Barrow Neurological Institute. Today, this expert is board certified in Neurological Surgery and specializes in Spine Surgery. Formerly, this expert held roles as an Assistant and then Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine and as the Associate Director of Spinal Tumor Surgery and the Neurospine Center at the UCSF Spine Center. Currently, he serves as Professor Emeritus at the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine, as a Professor of Neurological Surgery at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, and as the Co-Director of Minimally Invasive Scoliosis Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian Allen Hospital.
