Dr. Carmen Constantinescu has extensive experience in special education. She received her BA in communication and journalism from the University of Bucharest, her MA in early childhood special education from George Washington University, and her Ph.D. in special education from the University of Maryland College Park. She is a certified Maryland Advanced Professional in special education. She has held a number of former positions in education and supervision in special education at a number of institutions. Among her former roles, she served as the director of special education at The Chelsea School where she ensured compliance with federal and state special education regulations and implemented suitable curriculums. This expert also served as a special education field placement supervisor at the University of Maryland where she supervised placements for teacher candidates, provided weekly instruction on special education policies and practices, and served as the liaison between public school districts and the university. Currently, she serves as a professor of special education and research at a number of colleges where she develops the special education curriculum and teaches undergraduate and graduate students. This expert is the director of special education at a teacher's organization and at a prestigious university in Maryland where she designs and delivers the curriculum, conducts research and data analysis, and serves as a liaison between special education programs.
