This wound care specialist has been in practice for more than 30 years. She completed her BS in chemistry at the University of Michigan and her MD at Wayne State University where she also completed a residency in general surgery. She is a board-certified general surgeon and active in her field as a member of Association for the Advancement of Wound Care and the American College of Surgeons among others. She completed a tour of duty as a Major in the United States Army Medical Corps, then went on to a number of teaching positions at the University of Texas Health Science Center, UC Davis St Louis University and Michigan State. Currently, she is the medical director of wound and hyperbaric clinic and a general surgeon at a large public hospital in Michigan.
