Dr. Andrew Southerland, MS, MD, FAAN

Dr. Andrew M. Southerland has years of experience in the field of Vascular Neurology. He earned his BS in Zoology from North Carolina State University, his MD from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, and his MS from the University of Virginia Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the Carolinas Medical Center before completing both a residency in Neurology and a fellowship in Vascular Neurology at the University of Virginia Medical Center. Today, this expert is board certified in Neurology and Vascular Neurology. Formerly, this expert served as an Associate Director of the Adult Neurology Residency Program at the University of Virginia Medical Center and as an Assistant Professor in both the Departments of Neurology and Public Health Sciences. He currently serves as a Professor in the Departments of Neurology and Public Health Sciences at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He is also the Executive Vice-Chair in the Department of Neurology at the University of Virginia School of Medicine
