Dr. Douglas Hanto, MD, PhD

Dr. Douglas W. Hanto has specialized experience in the fields of General Surgery, Surgery, and Transplant Surgery. They earned their BA from Harvard University, their MBE from Harvard Medical School, their MD from the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson, and their PhD from the University of Minnesota. After completing their residency in General Surgery at the University of Minnesota Health Sciences Education Center, they went on to complete a fellowship in Transplant Surgery at the University of Minnesota Health Sciences Education Center. Today, the expert holds a certification in Surgery. Previously, they held roles as an Attending Physician at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt and an Attending Physician at St. Louis VA Medical Center. Currently, they work as a Lewis Thomas Professor of Surgery (Emeritus) at Harvard Medical School.
