Dr. Christopher Matkovic, MD

Dr. Christopher Matkovic has 13 years of experience in the field of Psychiatry. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Fine Arts from the University of Oregon, Eugene, Oregon, and his Allopathic Medicine degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine, Grenada, W.I. After completing his residency in Adult Psychiatry at Stony Brook University Hospital, he went on to complete fellowships in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and Forensic Psychiatry at New York University School of Medicine. Today, this expert is board certified in Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and Forensic Psychiatry. Formerly, Dr. Matkovic held roles as Acting Director of Child and Adolescent Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at Hasbro Children’s Hospital and as Assistant Director of Adult Psychiatric Emergency Service at Rhode Island Hospital. Currently, he serves as Director of Adult Psychiatry Emergency Service and Director of Forensic Psychiatry Service at Rhode Island Hospital. Dr. Matkovic has 11 years of experience post-fellowship training.
