About Dr. Brian Layden, MD

This expert has over 10 years of experience in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism. He earned his BS in psychology and his PhD in chemistry from Loyola University before earning his MD at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He went on to complete an internship and residency in internal medicine and a clinical and research fellowship in endocrinology all at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. This expert is very active in his field as a member of multiple professional societies including the Endo Society, the American Diabetes Association, and the American Federation for Medical Research. In addition, this expert has published over 70 peer-reviewed articles. Previously, this expert served as a research instructor of endocrinology, metabolism, and molecular medicine at Northwestern University before becoming an assistant professor. He was also the director of rounds at Northwestern University. Currently, he serves as an attending physician at a VA hospital and an associate professor and division chief of endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism at a medical school in Illinois.
