He has has been practicing for 26+ years and received his MD degree from the University of Bonn, Germany. He completed residency training in internal medicine, neurology and neuropathology at Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital, and concluded two fellowships focusing on neuroimmunology and neurogenetics at Columbia University, and in retrovirology and molecular biology at McGill University.
