Job Description

Summer Internship Program
Our 10-week summer internship program is designed to give you an immersive experience, where you’ll gain hands-on real world experience and will be welcomed by all of our team here at Expert Institute. During this internship candidates will receive role specific training, interact with members of our Executive team, and work on meaningful projects in the legal tech industry. Each intern will meet with department heads and company leaders to discuss business development skills ranging from professional business writing to best search strategies, and will receive performance feedback from their manager throughout the summer!

About the Role
Our Research department is the core function of our business responsible for finding, vetting, and screening each potential expert witness that works on the legal cases we’re assigned to.  We’re looking for a highly motivated and ambitious student to join our research team as a Research Intern this summer. This intern will have the opportunity to work in a fast paced environment, where they’ll interact with both our medical and non-medical teams, helping with administrative tasks such as scheduling conference calls, organizing data, and following up with experts. 

Our Research Intern will have the opportunity to:

  • Participate in our client engagement processes

  • Source and speak with high-level professionals who may be interested in working on legal cases as an expert witness

  • Conduct background research on experts and their experiences 

  • Speak directly with experts and other high-level professionals across various industries

  • Follow up with attorney clients to collect important case information

  • Support the department in meeting various goals, objectives and metrics

  • Work on high impact administrative ad-hoc projects as needed

Qualifications

  • Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a B.A. or B.S. in Pre-Law, History, Business, Communications or related field 

  • Experience in customer service or a client facing role preferred

  • Previous internship experience is a plus

  • Interest in law or the intersection of law and medicine  

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

  • Positive attitude and desire to learn is a must

  • Ability to work well in a team environment

  • Must have close attention to detail

  • Ability to meet deadlines, both prescribed and self-imposed

  • Creative analytical and problem solving skills is a must
