About Dr. Stephen M Cohn

This expert has over 30 years of experience in the field of general and critical care surgery. He earned his BA in biochemistry from the University of California, Santa Barbara, before receiving his MD from the Baylor College of Medicine. He then completed an internship in surgery at the Baylor Affiliated Hospitals, followed by a residency in surgery and a fellowship in surgical critical care and trauma at Boston University. Today, this expert is board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma. He is also very active in academia, having published over 250 peer-reviewed journal articles and over 300 abstracts on topics pertaining to general and critical care surgery. Previously, this expert was an associate professor of surgery, the chief of trauma and surgical critical care, the medical director of the surgical intensive care unit, and the program founder and director of the surgical intensive care unit fellowship at Yale University. In addition, he was a professor of surgery, the chief of trauma and surgical critical care, and the medical director of the bloodless medicine and surgery center at the University of Miami. Currently, he serves as a professor of surgery at a medical school in New Jersey and as a trauma and critical care surgeon at their affiliated medical center.
