Dr. Stephen L. Nelson has 15 years of experience in the field of Pediatric Neurology. He earned his BS in Biology from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona, his Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of California Riverside, and his MD from the University of California San Diego School of Medicine. After completing both an internship and residency in Pediatrics at Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center, he went on to complete a fellowship in Child Neurology at Stanford University Medical Center. Today, this expert is board-certified in Pediatrics, Epilepsy, and Neurology with Special Qualifications in Child Neurology. Formerly, this expert served as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Psychiatry at the Tulane University School of Medicine. He was also a Pediatric Neurologist at Naval Hospital Pensacola, and Memorial Hospital at Gulfport. He currently serves as a Professor of Pediatrics, Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Psychiatry, as the Director of the Pediatric Neurology Clerkship, and the Medical Director of the Tulane Center for Autism and Related Disorders at the Tulane University School of Medicine. He is also the Owner of Child Neurology Consulting, LLC and a Physician at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport - Academic Medical Center and at Ochsner Medical Center.
