About Dr. Phil Bishop

This expert has over 20 years of experience in environmental safety, specializing in hunting safety. He earned his BS in oceanography from the United States Naval Academy, his MSE from James Madison University, and his EdD in physical education from the University of Georgia. He stays very active in his field, having authored numerous publications on the topic of deer hunting, safety, and tree stands. Formerly, this expert was a research fellow at NASA. More recently, he was a professor of exercise physiology at the University of Alabama, a professor of exercise science at Liberty University, and a professor emeritus of exercise physiology at the University of Alabama. Currently, he is a consultant at a hunting safety consultancy in Alabama.
