About Dr. Manijeh Berenji, FACOEM, MD, MPH

Dr. Manijeh Berenji has 9 years of experience in the fields of Preventive Medicine and Occupational Environmental Medicine. She earned her BS in Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles, her MD from the University of Toledo College of Medicine, and her MPH from the University of Michigan School of Public Health. After completing an internship in General Surgery at the University of California San Francisco, she went on to start a residency in General Surgery at Brown University before realizing it was not the correct specialization for her. She subsequently changed directions and completed a residency in Preventative Medicine at the University of Michigan and a residency in Occupational and Environmental Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. Today, this expert is board certified in both Occupational Medicine and Public Health and General Preventive Medicine. Additionally, she is a Certified Medical Evaluator, a Certified MedicoLegal Evaluator, and a Certified Medical Examiner. Formerly, she served as a Staff Physician at the Duke University Hospital, as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine at the Duke University Medical Center, and as the Health Management Director for Hill Chesson & Woody Employee Benefit Services. She also served as an Occupational and Environmental Medicine Physician in the Department of Surgery at the Boston Medical Center, as a Partner of Boston University Orthopaedic Surgical Associates, and as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the Boston University School of Medicine. She currently serves as the Chief of Occupational Health for the VA Long Beach Healthcare System and as a Physician for the US Department of Affairs. She also serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health at the University of California, Irvine, School of Public Health, and as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of California, Irvine, School of Medicine.
