About Dr. Alexander Eliot Merkler, MD, MS

Dr. Alexander E. Merkler has 11 years of experience in the fields of Neurocritical Care and Neurology. He earned his BS from Brown University and his MD from NYU Grossman School of Medicine. He also earned his MS from Weill Cornell Medical College’s Clinical & Translational Science Center. After completing his residency in Neurology at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, he went on to complete a fellowship in Neurocritical Care at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Today, this expert is board certified in Neurology and is certified in Neurocritical Care by The United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Weill Cornell Medicine and of Neuroscience at the Feil Family Brain and Mind Research Institute, as well as a Site Director of the Neurocritical Care Fellowship for Weill Cornell Medicine/Columbia University. He is also an Attending Physician for the New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical System where he works in the Outpatient Neurology Clinic, Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit, and Inpatient Stroke Service.
