This highly qualified expert has over 27 years of experience in the field of School Administration and Special Education. She earned her BS at the University of California, Davis, and her MS in Counselor Education at California State University, Sacramento. She is active in her field as a member of several professional societies, including with the Council of Administrators of Special Education, where she is currently on the Legislative and Policy Committee, and with the Association of California School Administrators, and has served on numerous committees and task forces related to education administration. She received a State Senate appointment to the Legislative Blue Ribbon Commission on Autism, and a State Board of Education appointment to the state Advisory Commission on Special Education. She has previously served many school districts in roles such as the Director of Special Education, Director of Student Services, and Assistant Superintendent. She served as President of a Statewide Special Education and Student Services Council for two terms, and fulfilled all the officer roles for another statewide Special Education organization. She serves as an Executive Advisor on the Board of Breaking Barriers CA and as a "Friend to the Board" of the California Mental Health Advocates for Children and Youth. She has been an invited speaker at both state and national special education conferences. She recently served as the Co-Executive Director for a Statewide Special Education Task Force. Currently she is a consultant in Special Education Leadership and is a Technical Assistance Facilitator in addressing significant disproportionality.
