His internship, residency and fellowship training were completed at the Medical University of South Carolina. He is a member of various professional associations such as the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Alpha Omega Alpha (honor society) and sits on the boards of a number of medical boards and committees. His commitment to education and research is evidenced by multiple awards in excellency in teaching, more than 10 publications/presentations/ book chapters on maternal fetal medicine and his ongoing role as a reviewer for several renowned medical journals. He received the Chief Resident J. Richard Sosnowski award for Obstetrics and Humanism and lectures both nationally and internationally on preventing spontaneous preterm births. Currently, he is an assistant professor in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at a major university and an attending MFM physician with a large practice at a major hospital. As an MFM specialist, he is actively involved in mentoring, lecturing, and supervising medical students, residents and fellows. Among his many research interests, he takes pride in his work in preterm birth prevention, progesterone to prevent preterm birth, and healthcare delivery systems and to that end, has a garnered numerous grants and partnered with March for Dimes.
