Expert Qualifications

This expert obtained his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees at Vanderbilt University. He completed his medicine residency and cardiology fellowship training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. After a brief appointment as faculty at Johns Hopkins, he moved to Northwestern University. He is currently a Professor of Medicine - Cardiology, and Pharmacology at prominent university medical center, and is the Associate Director and Chair of Admissions of the Medical Scientist Training Program. He also serves as the Director of the Center for Molecular Cardiology at prominent university medical center. This expert has received several awards, including the AHA BCVS Young Investigator Award, the Jeremiah Stamler Distinguished Young Investigator Award, and the Schweppe Foundation Award. He is a fellow of the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology, and is a member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation. He serves on numerous AHA committees, including the AHA BCVS leadership committee and is the chair of the AHA BCVS communication/Membership committee. He has published manuscripts in several journals including Cell Metabolism, Journal of Clinical Investigation, PNAS, and EMBO Molecular Medicine.
